MeeTrend ("we," "our," or "us") is a Chrome browser extension that helps Meesho sellers filter and discover trending products. MeeTrend is owned and operated from India. By using our extension or visiting meetrend.in, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
This policy is governed by Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.
2. What Data We Collect
Account information: When you sign up or purchase a subscription, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. This information is necessary to create your account and manage your subscription.
Payment information: All payment processing is handled by PayU, a PCI DSS compliant payment gateway. We never store your credit card numbers, debit card details, UPI IDs, or net banking credentials on our servers. We only receive a transaction confirmation and receipt from PayU.
Extension usage data: Your filter settings — such as star ratings, review thresholds, and price ranges — are stored locally in your Chrome browser's storage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
What we do NOT collect: We do not collect your Meesho login credentials, browsing history, personal shopping data, or any information from websites other than Meesho category pages where our extension operates.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- To manage your MeeTrend subscription, process payments, and send you payment receipts.
- To provide customer support when you reach out to us via email or WhatsApp.
- To send you product update emails about new features and improvements. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every message.
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is yours.
4. Chrome Extension Permissions
MeeTrend requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function. Here is what each permission does and why we need it:
- activeTab: Allows MeeTrend to read Meesho category pages in your active browser tab so it can identify and filter product listings based on your criteria.
- storage: Used to save your filter preferences (star rating, review count, price range) locally in your Chrome browser. This data never leaves your device.
- scripting: Enables the auto-scroll and auto-filter functionality that scrolls through Meesho product listings and applies your filters automatically.
MeeTrend does not have permission to access your passwords, payment information, form data, or any website other than Meesho. We cannot read your browsing history or interact with other extensions.
5. Cookies
The meetrend.in website uses minimal, essential cookies solely for session management — for example, keeping you logged in during a visit. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or retargeting pixels of any kind.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party analytics or advertising scripts on our website.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your filter preferences and extension settings are stored entirely within your Chrome browser's local storage. They are not uploaded to any server.
Account information (name, email, phone) is stored on secure servers located in India. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data.
Payment data is handled exclusively by PayU, which is PCI DSS compliant. We do not process or store any payment card or banking information on our systems.
7. Your Rights
Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its associated rules, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction: You may ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information in your account.
- Right to deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data. Upon such a request, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy
MeeTrend is a business tool designed for Meesho sellers and resellers. Our service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. If we make any material changes, we will notify all registered users via email before the changes take effect.
